 Welcome to the exciting ministries of Henderson Settlement. Our mission is “Meeting Basic Needs in Appalachia”. Our goal is to display the love of Christ through service. We accomplish this by partnering with individuals and churches across the country to touch the lives of the families we serve. Our service area covers four counties in southeast Kentucky and northeast Tennessee. We reach out to over 3,000 people of all ages and stages of life each year. In 2006, the unemployment ranking in our service area ranked in the bottom 19% across the U.S. with Bell County in the bottom 6%. In 2004, the poverty ranking was in the bottom 6% for our service area in the country with Bell County in the bottom 2%. The need is great. Henderson Settlement provides the opportunity for thousands of people each year to be directly involved in outreach ministries. Not only are lives touched in the local community, but God touches the lives of the volunteers and staff also. Many come here not knowing what to expect and leave with a renewed spirit.
