The agriculture ministry at Henderson
Settlement is the only program of its kind in the United
Methodist Church.
Originally, the farm served as a way to
support the school at Henderson Settlement--it provided food for
the students who lived at the school, and by working on the
farm, they were able to earn their room and board.
Now, however, there is no school at the
Settlement, and the agriculture ministry serves the community in
different ways:
