History & Impact

This program supports food security in our community. Community Gardens helps families plant healthy futures with healthy food by providing:
  • Skills and resources to grow sustainable, nutritious food.
  • Instructions on how to grow, prepare and preserve food in a healthy way.
  • Soil testing, tools, plants/seeds and tillage to start a garden.
  • Empowerment to share their knowledge with others in the community.
  • A local Farmers Market to sell surplus food.

We offer workshops on garden planning, planting
& maintenance, heart-healthy cooking, food preservation and season extension.

Participate & Support

The Community Garden Program is funded by donations. You can participate and support this program by donating directly to it, donating to the general budget, reviewing our Needs List and Amazon Wish List and by volunteering.

If you’ve got a green thumb and love to teach and share - come as a volunteer and be part of this impactful program. Much like the greenhouse - there’s plenty of planting, watering, weeding and harvesting - but there’s also interaction with the community.

Help us make a difference - one garden, one season, one family at a time!
