Mommy & Me is a peer mentoring program that targets economically disadvantaged and geographically isolated communities. The program is designed to improve health and child development for pregnant women and families with children ages 0-3.
The Mommy & Me Program is a partnership between Vanderbilt University and community-based organizations. Through monthly home visits and parenting groups, Mommy & Me promotes healthy pregnancies, healthy children and healthy emotional bonds between children and their parents.
Since 1994 our Mommy & Me training program and regular “well baby visits” have been making a difference in the lives of our young mothers and infants.
Participate & Support
In April 2022 Work Camp team member Pam Sailor (RN) volunteered to speak with some of our Mommy & Me moms about Childhood Illnesses and Diseases & Food Allergies. Along with the valuable information Pam presented our moms enjoyed the social interaction with other moms and their children.
Pam’s interaction with Mommy & Me is a perfect example of how our outreach programs are all connected and provide countless opportunities to share your skills, gifts and passions with our community. You can participate in MIHOW through volunteering, cash donations and providing items on our Needs List.
