Tutoring & After-School Activities

History & Impact

When Hiram Frakes started the Henderson Settlement School - students who lived on campus worked two hours a day as part of their room & board agreement. Times have changed but we still want to keep our school-age youth active, healthy and motivated to succeed.

Our Tutoring & After School Program runs from September through April and serves Frakes School Center and Clairfield Elementary School students from kindergarten through eighth grade. We provide tutoring, snack time, devotions/Bible lessons and structured play time to help our kids grow mentally, physically, socially and spiritually.

This program directly supports our Scholarship Program by preparing our kids to follow their dreams.

Participate & Support

You can participate and support this program by donating directly to it or by contributing to the general budget. You can also participate by reviewing our Needs List and Amazon Wish List, picking out a few items and getting them shipped off to us. Or better yet - drive them on down and get a first-hand look at this program, the beautiful campus and our community!

If you have a passion for youth development we can plug you directly into this program! Whether it’s helping a child with homework, setting up activities, listening to a child share their dreams or making snacks for the group - there’s always plenty to do.
