Bertha Riel was the first volunteer at Henderson Settlement. In 1925 she converted a small cow barn into her home and a log cabin into the classroom she used for her first 13 students. We no longer house our volunteers in converted barns but the importance of volunteers has not diminished over the years
Volunteers come both out-of-state and from the local community to support our outreach programs. And they come for days, months or even years.
Volunteers can select specific programs to participate in or show up willing to help wherever needed in our 20 other community outreach programs.
We’d love to see you join the ranks of those who have made a positive difference in our community!!
