Work Camp

History & Impact

Work camp has been changing lives in the Laurel Fork Valley for over 75 years. It accomplishes this in two ways: First by introducing people to local missions opportunities, and second by bridging the gap between dreams and reality for families impacted by the harsh economic conditions of many Appalachian communities.

Having a safe, warm home to live in should not be a luxury. Unfortunately - needed home repairs and maintenance aren’t always affordable. Thanks to our work campers many community homes have been repaired/upgraded. And 43 families have moved into new homes built by volunteers over the last 32 years!

Critical campus projects are also adopted, funded and completed by work camp. There’s always more to do!!

Participate & Support

There’s a place here for everybody regardless of age, gender, race or faith. You can support work camp through participation, recruiting, donations, our Need’s List, Amazon Wish List and prayer.

What’s available..?? Well - there’s community home repairs, community new-house builds, campus projects and direct involvement with our other 20 community Outreach Programs.

Specific projects can be adopted from our Projects List based on your group’s budget & skill level. Or you can send us your budget/skill levels and we’ll find the perfect match for your group! Join us in changing lives throughout our local community!!
