Henderson Settlement Fund Definitions
Categories into which Designated Gifts will be Distributed
Fund Name & Definition
General Funds - Donations received without any form of restriction placed upon their use, other than for the delivery of the mission and ministries of Henderson Settlement.
VIM – Frakes - Reservation and Project Fees received and to be used in the current year for a volunteer group staying on the Frakes Campus
VIM – White Oak - Reservation and Project Fees received and to be used in
current year for a volunteer group staying on the White Oak Campus
VIM – Next Year - Any fees received this year from a volunteer group for next year's VIM registration or projects, whether they are staying at Frakes or White Oak campus. Please include campus name in the notes section of the journal entry.
This fund is also used if excess fees are received this year and the team wants to apply the excess fees to next year's project.
Infant Support - Gifts to support well-being of mothers and children in the prenatal to 3 year stage of life.
Youth Support - Gifts given to support any aspect of our Youth Development programming for children 3 years to 18 years of age
Women’s Support - Gifts given to support any aspect of our program activities addressing the unique needs of women in our community.
Senior Support - Gifts given to support any aspect of our program activities involving community senior citizens
Food Pantry - Gifts given to support any aspect of the maintenance, operation, and business management of our Food Pantry.
Community Support - Gifts given to support any aspect of the welfare of community members not addressed by a more specific fund
Community Christmas - Gifts given to support any aspect of the planning and execution of community Christmas programs.
Greenhouse Support
Gifts given to support any aspect of the maintenance, operation, or business management of our greenhouses and plant growing operations.
Farm Support
Gifts given in to support any aspect of the maintenance, operation, and business management of our agricultural programs, including animal husbandry.
Capital – Buildings
Gifts given to accomplish design, development and execution of major building and property maintenance, remodeling, or construction activities.
Grants - Gifts given as a grant, including foundations, organizations, universities, government agencies, etc. The name of the grantor must be entered into the notes section as each gift journal entry is created.
Salary Support - Gifts given to in-part, or fully support the salary costs of a specific staff member.
Fund Raisers - Gifts given in support of a specific Settlement fund raising activity. The name of the fund raising activity must be entered into the notes section as each gift journal entry is created.
Scholarships - Gifts given to support local college students in the form of scholarships.
Restricted – Other - Gifts given with a designation more specific than that covered by another fund definition.
