Youth Ministries

Youth Ministries
Henderson Settlement's Youth Development Program is dedicated to providing a safe and healthy environment for children in the surrounding communities. Our programs serve children from kindergarten through 12th grade. The activities and programs that we provide are designed around serving Christ while learning, playing, and growing together.
Programs are year round and include the teen youth group, the after school program for grades k-8, summer recreation, and seasonal youth programs.
If you have any questions regarding the youth development programs please reach out to Kaytee Moore, Youth Development Coordinator, at 606-337-3613 ext 309 or youthmin@hsumc.org
After-School program
Henderson Settlement's After School Program runs from September through April each school year. Currently we are serving both Frakes School Center and Clairfield Elementary School students from kindergarten through eighth grade. The program is designed to provide devotion/bible lessons, snack time, homework help, and structured play time to encourage good social skills.
Youth Group
Henderson Settlement's Youth Group is open for all teens ages 13-18. Weekly meetings are dedicated to growing in Christ together. We spend time fellowshipping with meals, weekly devotions/bible lessons, and group games/activities. Often the youth group hosts fund raising activities to help provide means for group trips and projects. The teens come together to complete service projects throughout the year which allow them to share God’s love with other members of the community through service work.
Summer Recreation
Henderson Settlement's Summer Recreation Program is a structured 8 week program servicing children 4-18 year old. Five days per week children from local and surrounding communities are transported to and from Henderson Settlement to attend a day of recreation. The day consists of 2 free meals funded by the Summer Feeding program, daily devotions/bible lessons, age appropriate learning activities, and games. Each day is planned to reduce the summer slide of education time, improve social skills, encourage teamwork and friendships, and grow in Christ together.
