Thrift Store

Henderson Settlement provides the community of Frakes, KY  with the opportunity to purchase good clothing, usable household items, working small appliances and furniture at a very low cost. The Frakes Thrift Store also carries food and drink options, which are bought at discount and sold for a reasonable price. Through donations, and in cooperation with Community Services, we can provide clothing, appliances, and furniture at no cost to those who cannot afford to pay. Items that are holiday in nature are always desperately needed.

If you are interested in donating new and good used clothing, in date food or money for food, household items and working small appliances to the Thrift Stores, please call the Thrift Store at (606) 337-3613 Ext 306 to make arrangements for the donations.

A NOTE TO ALL WHO DONATE TO THE THRIFT STORE:
We appreciate and thank you for the effort you all put forth to gather and deliver donations to the Thrift Stores at Henderson Settlement. They help the people of this area to have quality merchandise at low cost, freeing up money to be used on other necessities.

Everyone needs to be aware that all thrift stores (even rummage sales) are now under the regulations of the Consumer Safety Act. This means we have to be diligent and careful in what we offer for sale or even give away. For example, toys and items that have been recalled we cannot sell. Dinnerware that is chipped has to be thrown away. Cookware, if the Teflon is severely scratched, is no longer considered safe. Plastic containers that have obviously been used and residue from cooking is present can no longer be sold. Wooden and plastic cutting boards with knife marks have to be discarded. Sofas, recliners, etc. that are stained and cannot be satisfactorily cleaned cannot be accepted. We can no longer accept mattresses.  Clothing needs to be clean and in good condition. We do not have the means to wash and repair the volume of clothing that comes in.

We appreciate your time in making sure items can be used before arriving at the Thrift Stores, so that we can free up space for all the donations that come in.
For any Thrift Store related concern, please contact Mary Fuson by phone at 606-337-3613, Ext. 307. or by email.
