Youth DEVELOPMENT

Youth Leader RoleThroughout the 90+ year history of the Henderson Settlement, we have always maintained a strong focus on support of community youth.  This was first demonstrated as a focus on delivery of basic education, later as support for home life and welfare, and most recently on recreation opportunities and tutoring.

We will now enter a new stage – Youth Development.  We, at Henderson Settlement, understand the challenges and conflict families often face, between wanting our children to succeed, and the desire for them to stay close to home.  Our desire is to empower parents to help their youth achieve success, however they choose to define that success, and to fully develop their God-given creative potential.  We plan to develop paths enabling community youth to pursue further education and training, to develop job skills, and to identify employment opportunities that enable them to either work close to home, or outside the community, as they choose.

We are currently seeking a Youth Ministries Coordinator with the passion, skill sets, and experience required to lead this next chapter in our outreach to community youth.  We would greatly value your help to identify the candidate that God has already enabled to fulfill this role.

You can access a copy of the job description or by contacting Jim Knight (606-337-3613 ext 324) to obtain more detail about our plans and the requirements of this role.
